Blackberry wasn’t hip. But they wanted to be. So we worked with badass DJ and ardent Blackberry user Diplo, who was unquestionably hip. To be clear, even though our work was marginally hip, Blackberry = still not hip. We could only do so much. Although really, who doesn’t like an analog qwerty keyboard?

DIPLO'S LOST PHONE

As a way to organically highlight the features on the then-new-probably-now-defunct Blackberry Torch, we staged Diplo “accidentally” losing his phone. The lucky kid who “found" it began posting clips all over social media of Diplo's contacts and content—essentially whoring all the features of Blackberry’s latest device in the process. The online back-and-forth fueled the story, until the phone was returned and auctioned on eBay to benefit Diplo's charity of choice.
